MAZDASPEED3 Exterior: Sporty. Agile. Fierce. The Mazdaspeed3 takes design cues from Mazda's award-winning Nagare concept vehicle.
- The front end of the Mazdaspeed3 screams "Here comes trouble," with a lower air dam and round halogen fog lights that frame a five-point black grille, a Mazda-family signature.
- Subtle, wedge-shaped, curving Nagare-like character lines in the hood and down the sides give Mazdaspeed3 a strong sense of motion.
- Aggressively styled 18-inch alloy wheels and low-profile performance tires.

MAZDASPEED3 Performance: The 263-hp turbocharged 2.3L engine is the power behind this hot rod's rambunctious ride.
- 2.3L DOHC 16-valve Direct-Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine cranks out 263 hp at 5500 rpm, and 280 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm.
- Mazda's Advanced Torque Management System helps reduce torque steer to improve control when you hit the boost from a standing start.
- Warner-Hitachi K04 turbocharger with air-to-air intercooler delivers plenty of power and torque.
- Chain-driven dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder and variable intake-valve timing help improve engine breathing.
- Aluminum-alloy block and cylinder head, combined with a forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods mean this engine is lightweight.

MAZDASPEED3 Safety: You can't put a price on safety, so we didn't. These advanced safety features are standard on every Mazdaspeed3.
- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)* modulates the throttle and brakes when over- or understeer is detected, helping keep the vehicle stable during aggressive maneuvers.
- Traction Control System (TCS) detects any loss of traction, then adjusts the throttle to provide the drive wheels with a secure grip on the road and more sure-footed acceleration in difficult driving conditions.
- Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) pulses the brakes hundreds of times per second to help prevent wheel lockup so the driver can make controlled and confident stops.
- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) electronically monitors road conditions, brake pedal pressure and vehicle weight to determine how much force to apply to the brakes— while Brake Assist increases braking pressure in an emergency situation.

* Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is an electronic system to help the driver maintain control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether DSC will be effective in preventing loss of control. Please see your owner's manual for further details. |
