Like eyes in the back of your head, the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) System* is an advanced warning system that alerts you when other vehicles are in your blind spot.

• Outside rearview mirrors display a warning light when vehicles enter detection area.
• If the turn signal is activated while vehicles are in the detection area, a chime sounds to alert the driver.

* Always check your mirrors. Be aware of the traffic around you. Do not rely completely on the BSM system and be sure to look over your shoulder before changing lanes. The BSM system can assist the driver in confirming the safety of the surrounding but is not a complete substitute. The driver is responsible for assuring lane changes and other maneuvers. Always pay attention to the direction in which the vehicle is traveling and the vehicle’s surroundings. The BSM system does not operate when the vehicle speed is lower than about 20 mph (32 km/h).

With standard safety features like these, CX-9 doesn’t leave much room for error.

• Standard Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)* modulates the throttle and brakes when over- or understeer is detected, to help keep the vehicle in its intended path.
• Standard Traction Control System (TCS) detects wheel spin and adjusts the throttle to provide the drive wheels with a better grip on the road and more sure-footed acceleration in difficult driving conditions.
• Roll Stability Control (RSC) uses on-board sensors that monitor vehicle movement and automatically apply individual brakes to help keep the CX-9 stable during accident-avoiding maneuvers.
• Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors tire pressure and alerts you before tires become critically low.
